Manna: “What is it?”

Manna: “What is it?”

Manna is Jesus Christ who is The Bread of Life and the Living Word.

Nehemiah 9:15

You provided bread from heaven for them for their hunger, You brought forth water from a rock for them for their thirst, And You told them to enter in order to possess The land which You swore to give them.

Jesus is the bread from heaven who fills us so that we no longer hunger for what the world has to offer. Jesus is the Rock from whom flows rivers of living water to quench the thirst of the soul. We are filled to overflowing with the Living Water of Jesus Christ who flows out of us into the world watering the desert of poverty, despair, sickness, disease, addiction, brokenness, apathy, boredom, hopelessness and more. Jesus is the New Covenant life in the Promised Land of wisdom, understanding, council, might, knowledge, the fear of the Lord, the Spirit of the Lord, and he promised to give us all that we ask for according to His perfect will.

Jesus is the Rock of our Salvation–He is the Rock we are planted on a firm foundation, the Chief Corner Stone.

Psalm 78:24-25

He rained down manna upon them to eat And gave them food from heaven. Man did eat the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance.
Our Father is a good, good father who provides for His people. The bread of angels is sweeter than honey, full of the flavors of heaven. The Holy Spirit visits us with the sweetness of the Presence of the Living God. 7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them. 8O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! 9O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. . . . (Psalm 34).

John 6:31

Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.

Jesus is the Bread of Life out of heaven. When we partake of “His flesh” we partake of our inheritance in Him. We partake of New Life and all the provision that accompanies our purpose and calling upon the earth. The manna in the wilderness was just a “taste” of the Living Bread to come.

Hebrews 9:4

. . . .having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod which budded, and the tables of the covenant;

The golden jar holding the manna from heaven along with all the other elements in the ark of the covenant points clearly to our covenant relationship with Jesus: As we become more and more like Jesus (changing from glory to glory) we become more golden as the dross of lives are refined by the baptism of fire in our lives. The manna in our being is the Living Word, The Bread, of Life, The Hidden Manna; the Spirit of the Living God within: The Kingdom of Heaven. Aaron’s rod is the standard of the supernatural miracles, resolutions, restoration, reconciliation, and all that contributes to our new life each and every day in Jesus Christ. The tree of Life brings New life into our lives as the true purpose and calling manifests in seeing what we hope for materialize by our faith.

He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

This is the Living Word of God and the Hidden Manna from heaven transforming our minds and hearts from glory to glory.

Deuteronomy 8:16

In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do good for you in the end.
Jesus Christ is the pure example of humility in the life He lived on this earth; a living testimony of the Way, The Truth, and The Life.

Nehemiah 9:20

You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, Your manna You did not withhold from their mouth, And You gave them water for their thirst.

Manna: The Bread of Life

Water: The Living Waters of the Spirit of God

Matthew 4:4

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'”

John 6:50-51

This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.

John 6:32-35

Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. ‘For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.’

Revelation 2:17

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.

1 Peter 4:12 – Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
Manna also comes in what we face in our daily lives–we have trails but the Word says that trials are a natural thing–we in fact grow, become refined, and in fact “less of us and more of Him” through our difficulties. Manna was put into the Ark of the Covenant as a symbol for the Living Bread in us–
“What is it?” Manna is more than provision–manna symbolizes everything we NEED according to the perfect Will of God–His blessings and love are impossible to embrace–that’s why we call them, “what is it?” I am glad that we can understand what it is by  “the wisdom and revelation of the knowledge of Him” for the rest of eternity.
