Royalty In Christ
You are Prince and Princess of the Living God. Your home is in a Kingdom not of this world–that Kingdom is within you and no-one can take that from you for all eternity. No matter where you are or whom you are you will and always be Princess and a Prince in His Kingdom. His dwelling place is your dwelling place. The fact is, you have a new bloodline engrafted in the vine of the Living God through Jesus Christ. He is your King and He loves you beyond measure. Your nature, character, ways, and authority are in Him–you are not subject to the dictates of this world. Do you know that when you come to Christ you are a new creature—you are royalty in Christ? Do you know that the “new creature” belongs now to a royal bloodline? Do you know that not only are you part of a royal bloodline; you are also a part of a royal priesthood? The highest priest Jesus Christ after the order of Melchizedek is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven—and so are you in Christ.
For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.
It was the High Priest who entered the Holy of Holies once a year at Yom Kippur on behalf of the nation of Israel to atone for the unknown sins of the people by the blood of a goat. “Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, ‘See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain’” (Hebrews 8: 1-6). The pattern of these things is the patterns in the temple in heaven— Jesus Christ is now seated (in) on the right hand of the Father. Jesus is the minister of the holy place where we have access to the Father in Heaven. We are seated there now in Christ. “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6-7). Jesus is the King of Kings. We are joint heirs with Christ who now have the capacity to bring the Kingdom into this world dispelling the darkness of the evil one. “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory” (Romans 8:17). The Glory of Jesus Christ is in His death, resurrection, and glorification. Because we have been baptized into Christ, we have died, been resurrected, sanctified, justified, and glorified into the brightness of His coming—the most brilliant light of life and liberty in Jesus Christ.
The new person we now are belongs to the royal household of God—we are royalty in Christ.
Our identity, thinking, beliefs, values, culture, and our entire family history are changed, as we are “re-born” in Jesus Christ. “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17). The new person we now are belongs to the royal household of God—we are royalty in Christ. The new person we now are is part of a new bloodline in Jesus Christ because we are “engrafted” into the vine of Abraham. The nation we belong to is a “Holy Nation” and our nation belongs on earth today since the time of Abraham. Beginning in Genesis 17, originally called Abram, he is given the name Abraham that means: “father of multitudes” at the Covenant ceremony. “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai–‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life.” Abraham’s story is essentially the history of the establishment of the covenant between Abraham and God: God calls Abraham to leave his land, family, and household in Mesopotamia in return for new land, family and inheritance in Canaan, the promised land. Abraham became royalty because of His covenant with the one God as He submitted his will to God’s will.
As a stranger and foreigner, we identified with our life in this world. Our identity embraced what we did, owned, worked, or worshipped and was the result of what we were raised to believe in this world to be our success, accomplishments, social class, and the idols of our desires in the flesh.
The story of Abraham is a type and shadow of things to come in Jesus Christ. What this means is that as a new creature of the Spirit of God, we leave the dictates of this world and our own identity to live a covenant life in Jesus Christ and become sanctified as “blameless” because of His blood. The “promised land” is our claim in an inheritance in the Kingdom of God’s household—we are royalty in Christ. “So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family” (Ephesians 2:19). As a stranger and foreigner, we identified with our life in this world. Our identity embraced what we did, owned, worked, or worshipped and was the result of what we were raised to believe in this world to be our success, accomplishments, social class, and the idols of our desires in the flesh. When we are engrafted into the vine, we are now a citizen of eternity with a new vision. The new vision is held in the Word of God as our purpose and plan or salvation unfolds. “If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root” (Romans 11:17). It is wonderful to know that we have been grafted into the amazing vision of God. Through faith in Jesus we are chosen, called, and set apart as his children and heirs in His Kingdom—we are royalty in Christ. Although once far removed from the promises of God, we have been brought into fellowship with him through Christ Jesus. Once contrary to God and worldly by nature, God grafted us in, to embrace all the wonder and blessings of our new identity in Christ.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross, the veil to the Holy of Holies was rent in two. “At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook the rocks split” (Mathew 27:51). This signifies the fact that we now have access to the throne of God. “And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus” (Hebrews 10:19). Having access to the Holy of Holies allows us to be guided by the Spirit of God in all of our dealings in this life—to have access to all blessing, wisdom, revelation, knowledge, healing, and direction to live a Kingdom life on this earth and impact the lives of others as we live out our purpose, plan, and calling. All this belongs to us because we are now royalty in Christ.
We are royalty in Christ—our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit have been imparted to us to minister in the fashion of our Lord to bring hope, love, and light to a dark world. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellences of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). We are royalty in Christ. When we deny our “own identity,” the identity we still call “our own” and proclaim the identity we now have in Christ as a new creature, a “new man,” a royal priesthood, a joint heir with Christ, and a Holy Nation, we no longer are slaves to the dictates and sin of the darkness of our own best thinking because our mind is now the mind of Christ. When we allow Christ to be our Lord in obedience to His teachings and example, we know freedom in the purpose and plan that God destined for us at the foundation of the world—we are royalty in Christ—this is our true identity in Christ. Although we remain of this earth and suffer in trials and tribulation, we now have the strength and joy to overcome this world because Christ did—He became a man so that He could walk out this life with us every single step of the way—He is the way, the truth, and the life—He guides us on the path of our purpose, plan, and calling, He reveals the truth of His Word and transforms us to live an abundant life. We are royalty in Christ. He is our King and we are His princes and princesses. Our crown is salvation born in our inmost being. Our robe is His blood. Our scepter is His Word. Our jewels are the treasures to lay up in Heaven in mighty deeds—and above all, we are royalty in Christ because we will live forever with the King from this day forth.
Ask Him, He will make a way, He will provide, He will give you freedom in the midst of oppression and despair. He will heal you and pray for you from the throne room of Heaven right now. What do you need now?
Thank you Father for your grace and love, I make this request _______________ known to you now. Please ________________ in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and King. Worship the King with your life, with your choice to follow Him. Love Him, love others, love yourself because He made you–you are not a mistake. This is Life, this is Honoring Him with living. Amen, Selah.
John 17
20 My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you[e] known to them and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
Make no mistake, this is the prayer of Jesus Christ for you! That you may be one–Jesus prays that you may “see the glory” and once more, the Father loved you at the creation of the world. You are not a mistake–and there is only one of you. The special “gold print” of your identity was made at the foundation of the world–you have a purpose and a calling. He will never fail you nor forsake you. Cling to, adhere, glue yourself to Jesus and trust Him, “lean not on your own understanding.”
